West London Action for Children Charity

The Brief

West London Action for Children (WLAC) is a century-old charity with a diverse range of stakeholders including children, parents and carers as well as donors and volunteers.

They felt their legacy website was dated and cluttered and they needed a new site to better reflect the diversity of their offering. They wanted this website to be more intuitive for their clients, to make it easier for them to quickly find programmes to support their needs.

At the same WLAC needed the site to help promote WLAC’s mission and drive donations to support the charity.

Finally, WLAC also wanted a site that would be easy and quick to update internally and cost effective to build and maintain.

What we did

  • Redesigned the website from scratch moving it from an outdated and unsecure version of Wordpress to Squarespace 7.1.

  • Improved user experience through clearer navigation, better signposting and stronger calls to action making it easier for WLAC clients to find the programme they need and supporters to find ways to help WLAC.

  • Integrated Donorbox to make recurring and one-off WLAC donations including Gift Aid declarations easy and seamless.

Katherine managed the entire process with real passion and professionalism. We had an initial session to discuss our needs before a concept was created, which we could then discuss and comment on.

A shared drive was set-up and we were given very clear instructions on how to use it and what content would need to be uploaded.

We then had regular meetings to discuss the progress of the build, resulting in the new website being completed and ready to go live in a very brief amount of time.

The end result is a website that is easy to navigate and designed specifically to meet the needs of our stakeholders.
